Most of the first English translation of Paré's collected works was based on the first Latin edition of 1582, made from the second edition of the French Oeuvres (1579); however, the "Apologie and treatise," not having yet appeared in Latin, was translated directly from the French.--J. Norman, 2006
With a dedication to Sir Edward Herbert. Variant issue with dedication to Edward Lord Herbert of Cherbury
